Largemouth bass can be found off the
points in the lake most of the year. In spring you can find them in coves while spawning.
Prime bass areas are usually among the trees in the north and south
forks. Watch for them
at Rocky Point, Piney Point, and Engineers point. To lure them your way with their
favorite snacks crawdads, waterdogs, large minnows, plastic worms and pig n

bluegill are only one of the species of fish in Isabella Lake. Using mini jigs, red worms,
and mealworms they can also be caught in the North and South Fork in the trees, at
Paradise Cove, and at French Gulch.

White Record: 18 lbs., 3-ozs.
Both channel and white catfish are
found in the waters of Isabella Lake. Using night crawlers, mealworms, stink baits,
anchovies, mackerel, and clams. They have been caught in a variety of areas including in
the coves, off points, at the main dam, in the flume below the Auxiliary Dam, at French
Gulch, Camp 9, and Tillie Creek.

Black and white crappie are another
species of fish living in Isabella Lake. Using mini jigs, small minnows, and meal worms,
crappie can be caught in the south and north forks in the trees, as well as in coves, and
in the South Fork river channel.

1970s). Rainbow trout are stocked in Isabella
Lake on a regular basis. A variety of baits can bring these fighters to you. Among their
favorites are salmon eggs, crickets, night crawlers, power bait, and fly's.
Carp &
Squawfish ...

although not considered game fish, both
carp and squawfish can be found in the waters of Isabella Lake. These fish can grow to be
very large, some as high as 23 pounds, and test the skills of even the best of fisherman.
Chrome spoons reeled slowly is best for squawfish and bread balls work very well for carp.
